International Resources Holding (IRH) continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering Emirati talent in the geology field, welcoming 6 undergraduate students from universities across Abu Dhabi and Sharjah into its latest training program
The eight-week structured program is designed to provide interns with comprehensive, hands-on exposure to the full mineral exploration and mining value chain. Delivered by a multidisciplinary team of in-house technical experts, the curriculum spans geology, geochemistry, geophysics, mining, and mineral processing, equipping students with practical skills and industry insight that complement their academic studies.
Commenting on the initiative, Ali Rashed Alrashdi, CEO of IRH, said:
“Empowering young Emirati talent and investing in their knowledge and capabilities, both broadly and within the mining sector specifically, remains a core value for IRH. Our company is committed to building a skilled national workforce that will help shape the future of the UAE’s mining and mineral resources industry.”
Maitha Abdulla Al Romaithi, an undergraduate student among the new cohort of interns joining IRH, noted that this unique opportunity is very beneficial in attracting young UAE talent, as mining is a relatively new industry here. “This internship gave me an immersive experience within the mineral resources and mining industry which I would not have found in university curriculums and programs. It is also great to see more women, especially Emirati women, joining an industry that is mainly male dominated.”
