IRH and AzerGold sign agreement to jointly explore mineral potential in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 15 September 2026. International Resources Holding (IRH), the Abu Dhabi-based natural resources investment platform and a subsidiary of 2PointZero Group, has signed a strategic agreement with AzerGold CJSC, the state-owned mining company of Azerbaijan, to jointly explore the mineral potential of the Nakhchivan region and identify prospective deposits.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, UAE National Security Adviser and Chairman of IHC, and H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of a high-level UAE delegation visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation included UAE ministers, senior officials and business leaders, including H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of 2PointZero Group; H.E. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Vice Chair and Managing Director of 2PointZero Group; and Syed Basar Shueb, CEO of IHC. The agreement was signed by Ali Rashed AlRashdi, Chief Executive Officer of IRH, and Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC.

Under the agreement, IRH and AzerGold will conduct a detailed assessment of Nakhchivan’s mineral potential as an initial step towards identifying prospective deposits and future exploration opportunities. Based on the findings, the parties may advance to further exploration and resource development activities, including the potential establishment of a joint venture in Azerbaijan. Any resources identified through exploration would subsequently be evaluated for potential development.

The partnership advances IRH’s strategy to build a diversified, internationally connected resources portfolio through partnerships with established national and industry stakeholders. It also provides a platform for IRH and AzerGold to combine their respective capabilities and local expertise to identify and responsibly develop high-potential mineral opportunities in Azerbaijan.
